GIVEN they have played together almost every year since they were under 12 reps in country Victoria, Mat Campbell said life without best mate Glen Saville on the court would be strange.

He said he understood Saville's reasons for leaving the Hawks and the pair would regularly stay in touch.

"It's going to be completely different for me because as long as I can remember, Sav's been beside me in that three-spot," he said.

"Running down the court, we both knew what the other one was going to do. It became second nature. He's irreplaceable really. Nobody will be able to give us the numbers he gave us, the rebounding, the defence ... he's the best three-man in the league and all we can do is try and cover what he did with two players."

Yesterday Saville's agent Geoff McGuire said his star client was still weighing up his future.

"It will take him a few days to look at clubs that are interested in him," McGuire said.

"He'll go through that process and then make a decision as to what he'll do next year."
